Man Charged With Meth Possession After Traffic Stop

A traffic stop for a headlight violation on North Main Street in Hopkinsville led to drug charges Tuesday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy John Quarles says he stopped a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Michael Keeling who was found to not have a driver’s license or proof of insurance.

During the stop, Keeling was found to have a warrant out of Colbert County, Alabama. He was arrested and after arriving at the jail he reportedly took his shoe off and a bag of meth fell onto the floor.

Keeling is charged with possession of meth, first-degree promoting contraband, failure to dim headlights, no operator’s license, and failure to maintain required insurance.
