Authorities have released the name of a Cadiz man that was charged after a high-speed pursuit that ended in Christian County Wednesday night.

Kentucky State Police say they stopped 24-year old Detaveon Day near East Noel Avenue in Cadiz for disregarding a stop sign.

During the stop, he was reportedly found to have three active warrants out of Illinois and when they tried to get him out of the vehicle he fled crossing into Christian County on US 68.

State Police reportedly terminated the pursuit near Eagle Way and Christian County Sheriff’s deputies later located the vehicle on Interstate 24.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say Day fled again at speeds of over 100 mph on Interstate 24 before turning onto Pennyrile Parkway.

The pursuit ended when spike strips were used at Pennyrile Parkway and Eagle Way. Deputies say Day got out of the car and fled on foot but was apprehended by Hopkinsville Police.

Day was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, disregarding a stop sign, and speeding.
