The November General Election will see two small business owners face off for the office of Hopkinsville mayor. With 1,006 votes, James R Knight, Jr. took the Republican Primary over Vince Farrell, who received 652 votes.

Meanwhile, Ward 5 Councilwoman Amy Craig held off challenger Anna Norris 155 to 85. The Republican choice for Ward 7 came down to one vote with Doug Wilcox beating Mark Graham 185 to 184. Wilcox will face Democrat William Coleman in November.
With just 33 votes, Jamie Lynn Lienberger won over Ardell Owens for the Ward 9 nomination amd will face Democrat and 13-term councilwoman Patricia Waddell-Bell in November.
In the November General Election, candidates will be Ward 1: Vance D. Smith (D), Natasha Sophia Francis (R); Ward 3: Donald Marsh (R) Karen Bass (D); Ward 6: Travis W. Martin (R), Nichelle’ (Niecy) Hillis (D); Ward 8: Robert Terry Meek (R), Twyla Dillard (D); Ward 11: Jose Quinonez (D), Jason Bell (R); and Ward 12: Philip Brooks (D), Matthew Handy (R).
Republicans Bruce Smiley, Chuck Crabtree, and Steve Keel are unopposed in Wards 2, 4, and 10, respectively.
