A Hopkinsville man accused of being involved in gang activity was arrested on several felony warrants and found to be in possession of a firearm on Grandview Drive Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they received a report that 19-year-old Emonie Evans was inside of a home and had active warrants. When they arrived, police say they could see him lying on a bed through a window with a gun on his waist.
Police say after they surrounded the home, Evans came out of the house without the gun. After a search of the home, the gun was located, covered up, behind a dryer. Police also located a marijuana blunt and ammunition inside the home.
Evans was lodged in the Christian County Jail on charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and probation violation.
Evans was released from jail on March 16th after he was charged with engaging in organized crime in connection to a group known as FSG or “Face Shot Gang” who police say are responsible for dozens of shootings in 2019.
