Third District State Senator Whitney Westerfield says he will not be a candidate in the Kentucky Attorney General race in 2023.
In a statement released Tuesday night Westerfield, who chairs the Kentucky Senate Judiciary Committee, says he made the decision to not enter the race for the state’s Attorney General next year. Westerfield notes “The office is important-from defending our laws and protecting the commonwealth to engaging with prosecutors and building relationships with law enforcement, community leaders, and policy makers. He adds he trust Kentucky voters will choose our next Attorney General wisely.
