Hopkinsville Suspect Wanted After Fleeing Paducah Police

A Hopkinsville man is wanted in Paducah after fleeing from police on Thursday afternoon.

Paducah Police say their drug unit detectives spotted a vehicle being driven by 27-year-old Lawrence Edwards who was wanted on warrants for first-degree assault and parole violation. When they attempted to stop him he fled the area.

Police say Edwards was charged with shooting into a vehicle on March 21st in Christian County. He was convicted of several charges of theft of a firearm, tampering with a prisoner monitoring device, first-degree promoting contraband, and assault.

He was reportedly paroled on November 24, 2021, but has violated the terms of his parole.
