Pardue Lane Park to See Continued Improvements Thanks to Grant

Continued improvements will be made to Hopkinsville’s Pardue Lane Park with the help of a $100,000 grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman was in Hopkinsville Monday to make ceremonial check presentations to benefit three parks in Christian County.

Coleman said investing in local infrastructure projects is vital for the state in moving forward and providing a better quality of life.

The City of Hopkinsville will receive a $100,000 grant for the Pardue Lane Park that will construct over a half-mile of trails to provide a link from the Hopkinsville Greenway to the Pardue Lane Park.

8th District State Representative Walker Thomas lives near the park and spoke firsthand about what the improvements mean to him as a resident of Hopkinsville.

Mayor Wendell Lynch echoed the comments of Thomas and said these improvements are part of the ongoing work to improve the quality of life for residents of Hopkinsville.

The city received a similar grant last year for $75,000 to construct two group shelters and a playground at the park. Lynch said the trail work is in the design phase with a 2023 projected completion date.
