Charges To Be Modified Again In 2019 Fatal Sinking Fork Crash

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling says another superseding indictment will be handed down in Christian County Circuit Court against a Crittenden County man charged in a 2019 wreck that claimed the lives of a Cerulean mother and her 11-year old child.

Robert Jackson of Marion had previously been charged with two counts of reckless homicide and two counts of wanton endangerment in connection to a two-vehicle wreck that occurred in 2019 two days before Christmas on KY 91/Princeton Road. A superseding indictment was handed down in May that removed one of the reckless homicide charges and added a first-degree wanton endangerment offense for a total of three counts.

During a pretrial conference before Judge Andrew Self Wednesday afternoon, Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling said a new superseding indictment would include two counts of reckless homicide.

Adams also said she had two issues that she wanted to address, one of which is preserving evidence.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported Jackson crossed the center line about a mile north of Sinking Fork Baptist Church and hit a truck driven by 32-year old Misty Quarles of Cerulean. Quarles’s daughter, 11-year old Alexia Trump, a sixth-grader at Sinking Fork Elementary School, died from her injuries at a Nashville hospital within a day of the crash. Quarles succumbed to her injuries the following May after a lengthy hospital stay. Two other people in Quarles’ vehicle were also injured.
