As of 3 PM Friday, Pennyrile Electric is reporting that more than 700 of its customers are still without power — following a line of morning storms that brought heavy rains and damaging winds to Trigg, Christian and Todd counties.
A couple of major power outage pockets can be pinpointed at this time.
More than 350 customers are without electricity between the Allegre, Clifty and Sharon Grove communities, particularly along Hwy. 181 Greenville Road and Highland Lick Road.
Much of Guthrie also remains without power, too, particularly along Hwy. 346 and past the Kentucky/Tennessee state line.
Prior to lunchtime, Pennyrile Electric reported more than 2,500 customers without power. More than 1,700 customers had power restored between noon and 3 PM.
After a week-long heat wave through west Kentucky, temperatures have precipitously dropped following this cold front, in what can be a silver lining following the outages.
