A Pembroke man was charged after leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop 26-year-old Demetrius Henderson on Braden Street for having the wrong license plate on his vehicle and he fled at speeds of 89 mph.
The pursuit ended when he wrecked his vehicle at Glass Avenue and North Drive. He then reportedly fled on foot leaving a woman in the vehicle that was injured.
An ambulance was called to the scene but the woman refused to be transported to the hospital.
Henderson was later located and charged with speeding, disregarding a traffic control device, improper passing, first-degree wanton endangerment, no registration plates, and first and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
