One Cadiz Rotary Club president said “goodbye” and another said “hello” during Tuesday’s meeting, as the outgoing Kyle Hensley passed the gavel to the incoming Alana Baker-Dunn.
Both graduates of Trigg County High School and local natives, the two were co-chairs of this year’s Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction, and after ceremonially pinning Dunn as the next president, Henley said he was looking forward to the next year under her leadership.
John Rufli administered Dunn’s oath for the position, and brought a little humor to the serious occasion.
Dunn is one of the youngest, if not the youngest, member of the Cadiz Rotary Club, and aside from local farming has turned to leadership as a county magistrate, a director on both the FNB Bank’s and Trigg County Farm Bureau’s boards and is the Trigg County Cattlemen’s Association president.
While Rotary International has a theme for this upcoming year, “Imagine Rotary,” Dunn said she has her own theme planned for Cadiz.
New officers and directors were also inducted for this term, and those on hand in person included Mallory Lawrence, KaDonna Woodall, Ashley Johnson and Hensley.
