A new fire truck has been purchased Thursday to help Fairview Volunteer Fire Department when fighting larger fires in the area.
Fairview Fire Department Chief Marc Hampton says they purchased a used 1991 Spartan 110’ ladder truck to help the department as the community has grown with multiple large commercial structures over the last few years.
The truck has five capabilities of firefighting including a fire pump, water tank, hoses, ground ladders, and an aerial device.
Hampton says once delivered, the ladder truck will be re-lettered, pump-tested, certified, and outfitted with equipment adding members will be training during the month of July with the truck, and they expect to have the truck in service by the first of August.
The truck will also be available to any emergency services in Christian or Todd County for mutual aid responses.
