A longtime and well-respected Christian County agri-business man has been reappointed to the state’s Agricultural Development Board by Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles.
Wayne Hunt, president of H&R Power in Hopkinsville, will now serve his second term for the organization, which expires July 2026.
Previous owner-operator of Agri-Chem, he also serves on the Commonwealth Agri-Energy Board of Directors whose expertise is often sought by the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council and its constituents.
Hunt was first appointed to the KADB in the summer of 2018 by Governor Matt Bevin.
KADB meets the third Friday of every month to review and fund grants that apply for county and state agriculture projects.
Alongside Hunt, Dr. Quarles announced the reappointments of Eminence’s Robert Foree to the KADB, and Lancaster’s Jonathan Noe to the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Committee.
In a written statement, Quarles said he was grateful these “servant leaders” will continue to support the state’s agriculture communities, and that they “tirelessly represent” the disciplines as they lift producers and farm families in the Commonwealth.
On the KADB, Hunt specifically represents active farmers, while Foree represents attorneys with farm experience and familiarity with agriculture policy.
