Friends and supporters turned out Thursday evening as the St. Elmo Homemakers’ annual picnic made a post-pandemic return to the south Christian County community.
More than 500 advanced tickets were sold for barbeque and all the trimmings provided by the Barbeque Shack and a wide range of desserts made by the St. Elmo Homemakers Club at the historic school and clubhouse located on the Bradshaw Road. Club President Kathleen Carter says the members felt it was critical to bring the picnic back.

In addition to the picnic, there was a silent auction that included a number of unique items, including some antique chairs from the estate of the late Rosemary Pace, who was a longtime member of the club.
