Storm Damage Reported At Hu B’s In Kuttawa

The National Weather Service is reporting a microburst resulted in significant damage to the marina and several boats at Hu B’s at Kuttawa Harbor Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service storm report the damage occurred when strong thunderstorm winds called a microburst hit near Kuttawa around 5:10 Sunday morning. The weather service says the microburst caused severe damage at Kuttawa Harbor. Numerous boat docks and boats were damaged in the harbor. Initial reports indicate the storm resulted in 2 to 3 million dollars worth of damage.

Lyon County Emergency Management also reported numerous trees that were two to three feet in diameter were also blown down when the storm moved through, and the microburst occurred.

The National Weather Service storm report did not indicate if there were any injuries that resulted from the storm and the damage to the boats and docks.
