A Hopkinsville man was charged with fleeing from police after a report of a suspicious subject in the area of East 19th Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 23-year-old Mortavious White was stopped by police and gave them a false name.
During the stop, he was reportedly found to have a medicine bottle belonging to someone whose house was broken into the day before along with a bag containing more pills.
Police say when he was told to turn around he took off running towards Oak Street but was quickly apprehended.
White was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, giving officers false identifying information, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
