Two Charged After Fort Campbell Boulevard Crash

A Hopkinsville man and woman have been charged after a wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville that sent them and three kids to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say a car driven by 31-year-old Daniel Hart was southbound when it ran off the road and hit a culvert.

Three children under 5-years-old were found wedged between the rear and front seats and none of their car seats were secured in the car.

All five people in the vehicle were taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries. One of the children reportedly had to be flown to another hospital due to the injuries.

Police say the vehicle was on fire but the driver of a tractor-trailer stopped and used an extinguisher to put out the fire.

Hart and his adult passenger 24-year-old Amanda Barton were both charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Hart was also charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license and failure to maintain required insurance.

The crash happened just before noon.
