A Hopkinsville man was charged after a standoff with law enforcement at Woodland Heights on Greenville Road Thursday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say 57-year-old Michael Hoover assaulted a woman then barricaded himself inside of an apartment when law enforcement arrived.
An ambulance was called for the woman who suffered head injuries.
Deputies say Hoover made threats to kill law enforcement and still had a knife in his hand when they entered the apartment, a taser was used and he was taken into custody.
No shots were fired. Hoover is charged with second-degree assault domestic violence, third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree wanton endangerment, and resisting arrest.
