Cadiz Man Charged After Calloway County Pursuit

A Cadiz man was charged after a pursuit with Calloway County law enforcement that led to a wreck Monday morning.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop 61-year-old Charles Sikes on Kentucky 641 and he fled crossing into Marshall County and back into Calloway County before spike strips were deployed.

Sikes reportedly swerved missing the spike strips causing his vehicle to collide with a law enforcement vehicle at the area of Flint Road and Kentucky 641.

Sikes was originally stopped for questioning in connection to an investigation in Trigg County but no information has been released about the investigation.

He was then taken to Calloway County Hospital for treatment and then charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, and first-degree criminal mischief.

No deputy was injured in the pursuit.
