Ninth Annual Todd County Bale Trail Begins September 24

The Todd County Chamber of Commerce has announced the start of the Ninth Annual 2022 Bale Trail — set to begin September 24.

More than 60 residents, businesses and organizations across the county have committed to and completed sculptures made of rolls, bales and loose hay. These efforts attract tourists from several states, and the program garnered statewide attention in 2021 when it was awarded the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce “Events Excellence” Award.

It’s now considered the biggest tourism event of the year for Todd Countians, having grown exponentially in the last decade.

Prizes are awarded for “Most Creative,” in which a panel of judges will choose a winner from each of three categories: Private Residence, Business, and Non-Profit. Displays are scored on originality, creative use of materials, attention to detail, and overall impression.

A prize will also be awarded for “Fan Favorite,” which will be voted on by the public via the Todd County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page October 1-31.

Maps for this trail can be found at the Todd County Welcome Center kiosk in Elkton, as well as at several Chamber Member businesses throughout the county.

The 2022 Todd County Bale Trail is sponsored by HES EnergyNet, Guthrie Tourism Commission, Weathers Drugs, Pennyrile Electric, Long Vue Farms, Sunnydale Farm, WKDZ Radio, Todd County Fiscal Court, the City of Elkton, Novelis, Pennyroyal Hospice and the City of Trenton.

The Bale Trail lasts through Monday, October 31. We’ll have more on these festivities leading into the weekend.
