Police have released the names of two people that were severely injured in a wreck on East 9th Street at the intersection of Woodmill Road in Hopkinsville Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say a truck driven by 48-year-old Lance Johnson Jr. of Clarksville was driving on the wrong side of the road when it collided head-on with a second truck driven by 76-year-old Angel Maros of Trenton.
Both drivers were taken to Jennie Stuart Health by ambulance with Johnson being taken to a waiting helicopter that transferred him to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Police say they had received a reckless driver call for a vehicle that fits the description of Johnson’s vehicle before the crash.
Johnson was reportedly found to have no insurance and the wrong license plate on the vehicle.
Police say both drivers suffered severe injuries and were unable to give statements to law enforcement.
The crash happened just before 1 pm.
