Pennyrile Marketplace Sells, New Owner Promises Upgrades

A Florida development company has purchased the Pennyrile Marketplace on Fort Campbell Boulevard with plans to upgrade its curb appeal.

Fimiani Development Corporation of Boca Raton, Florida acquired the 85,000-square-foot shopping center from Seritage KMT Finance for $3.75 million.

The shopping center is anchored by Harbor Freight Tools, Bargain Hunt, and Farmers Home Furniture. In a media release, Fimiani plans renovations to the property including landscaping, improved signage, and resurfacing of the parking lot.

Built in 1978, the shopping center most notably housed the Hopkinsville K-Mart store until it closed in 2017. The Pennyrile Marketplace sits on 12 acres. The Skyway Drive-In Movie Theater opened on the property in 1953 and closed in January 1978 to make way for the K-Mart.

Fimiani President Mike Fiminai called the property a destination retail hub for the trade area because of its close proximity to Fort Campbell and the surrounding retail establishments.
