Police have released the name of a Hopkinsville woman that had to be cut from her vehicle after a wreck on Pembroke Road at Bill Bryan Boulevard in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say an SUV driven by 36-year-old Alessandra Stepp Benitez was westbound when it struck the back of a tractor-trailer driven by 26-year-old Samerial Stallworth of Birmingham, Alabama, that was attempting to turn onto Bill Bryan Boulevard.
Stepp Benitez was taken to Jennie Stuart Health by ambulance to meet with a waiting helicopter to transfer her to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
The full extent of her injuries was unknown. The crash happened just after 9 a.m.
