Western Kentucky has a few more academy-trained officers to hit the streets after the 531st class graduated last Thursday from the Department of Criminal Justice Training Police Academy in Richmond.
Part of the 27-member academy class was Rolando Carranza of the Hopkinsville Police Department; Cameron DeArmond of the Oak Grove Police Department; Stacye Player of the Elkton Police Department; and Jordan Spice and Christopher Baker — both of the Princeton Police Department.
The five officers were part of academy class 531who received 800 hours of recruit-level instruction over 20 weeks. The major training areas included patrol procedures, physical training, defensive tactics, criminal law, traffic and DUI, firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias-related crimes, and tactical responses to crisis situations.
