The Trigg County Wildcat marching band is heading to state competition next weekend after a strong finish in regional competition Saturday.
The Wildcat band took second place overall at KMEA regional competition Saturday in Bowling Green. The band earned a distinguished rating and took top honors for having the best overall musical performance.
To help celebrate their top finish in regional competition the Trigg County High School band was welcomed back to Cadiz Saturday night by a police escort from the Cadiz Police Department.
The Wildcat band will head to state competition this weekend and compete in the semi-finals to try and earn a spot in the finals Saturday, October 29, at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.
