An Oak Grove woman died following a crash on Herndon Oak Grove Road in Herndon Wednesday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a southbound SUV driven by Tonya Newberry crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic and hit a car driven by Carolyn Hamby, of Nashville, head-on, near the intersection of Kentucky 345.
A helicopter was initially called to the scene to transfer Newberry to the hospital but after she was cut from her vehicle she was rushed by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare, in Clarksville, where she later died from her injuries.
Hamby along with a child that was in Newberry’s SUV, Jessie Newberry, of Oak Grove, were also injured in the crash which occurred around 2pm.
