An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Princeton man after law enforcement found a large quantity of marijuana and more than $68,000 in cash at a residence with police looking for second suspect.
According to Princeton Police Chief Chris King, officers were contacted to assist Probation and Parole officers Wednesday with a tip received that drugs were being sold at a residence on Citizens Court. The chief says one of the suspects, 21-year old Juan Rosales who is currently on parole, was interviewed at the Probation and Parole Office and consented to a search of the residence.
While conducting surveillance, Chief King says officers observed a vehicle pull up to the home and a black man exit the residence carrying a large box that officers later found contained approximately 30 pounds of processed marijuana. When confronted by officers, the suspect, identified as 22-year old Jameer Riley of Princeton, reportedly ran.
Chief King indicates officers with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, Probation and Parole and Princeton Police Department officers and detectives searched the residence and found processed marijuana, mushroom edibles and marijuana edibles, and marijuana vaping cartridges with a street value of $500,000. Along with the drugs, officers reportedly seized over $68,000 in cash and two firearms.
Rosales was charged with trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance with that charge firearm enhanced.
Chief King says Riley is still at large and asks anyone who knows where he is or has any information to call the Princeton Police Department at (270) 365-2041 or (270) 365-4657.
