Most of western Kentucky is at a slight risk of storms late Tuesday and early Wednesday that could produce damaging winds and perhaps a tornado.
Christopher Noles, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Paducah, said there had been a slight eastward shift in what the models showed over the weekend. An increase in winds during the day Tuesday may prompt the weather service to issue a wind advisory.
He said models were showing a storm with singular cells instead of a long line that was forecast over the weekend. He added the strongest storms will likely be in western Tennessee but could push north into western Kentucky between six Tuesday night and two o’clock early Wednesday with the Pennyrile affected around midnight.
Once the rain passes, a cold front will push through Wednesday and drop temperatures into the lower 40s with winds gusting to near 30 mph. Lows Wednesday night will be around 20.
