Hopkinsville Man And Woman Charged With Endangering Child

A Hopkinsville man and woman were charged with wanton endangerment after a 5-year-old was left outside alone on Talbert Drive in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for a 5-year-old that was dropped off by a school bus and had been outside by himself for an extensive amount of time. The child was reportedly taken by a neighbor who showed up in a vehicle shortly after law enforcement arrived.

The child’s mother 24-year-old Kourdja Wallace was allegedly in Clarksville at the time and when she arrived a 2-year-old child was found in the backseat of the vehicle unrestrained.

Police say she turned off the vehicle and took two children in the home but left a 1-year-old in the vehicle.

Wallace was found to have a suspended license.

Wallace along with 21-year-old Adraius Beard were both arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment. Wallace was also charged with first-degree criminal abuse, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and failure to use a child restraint device in a vehicle.
