A slight drop in attendance in the Trigg County School System will have teachers and administrators taking time out of their own schedule over the holiday break to maybe reconnect with some students who have gotten out of the routine of coming to school five days a week.
Superintendent Bill Thorpe and Director of Personnel and Student Services James Mangels told the Trigg County School Board earlier this month that the district’s daily attendance rate is 91.2%. Thorpe said that if that trend continues, it will result in the district losing nearly $500,000 in annual SEEK funding.
He went on to say that teachers plan to reconnect with the other 9% over the break.
