A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly raped and assaulted a woman on Pyle Lane in Hopkinsville Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 40-year-old Leon Davie choked a woman twice then hit her in the head with a lamp and a liquor bottle before taking her phone and keys. He reportedly told her the only way she could leave is if she had sex with him and she complied in fear of further violence.
Police say he kept her cell phone but allowed her to leave.
Davie was arrested and charged with kidnapping, first-degree rape – domestic violence, first-degree sodomy – domestic violence, second-degree assault – domestic violence, first-degree strangulation, tampering with physical evidence, and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
