The weather year is off to a wet start and has a strong chance of being one of the ten wettest Januarys on record according to the National Weather Service.
Weather Edge forecaster David Powell says steady rain Monday and Tuesday will give way to heavy rain Wednesday.
click to download audioMost places are expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of rain which could cause some minor flooding issues. High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Overnight lows are expected to be in the mid to upper 40s.
As we approach the weekend, highs are expected to be in the upper 40s and low 50s Thursday morning before cooling through the afternoon. Friday highs will only be in the mid-40s. Overnight lows are expected to be in the upper 20s to low 30s.
Powell says more rain is likely over the weekend.

Looking at the extended forecast, Powell says another winter storm system is likely to occur next month.

Three times more than 10 inches of rain has fallen here in January, the most recent was in 1969.
