Christian County School Superintendent Chris Bentzel says making sure students do not bring any type of weapons on the school campus remains a top safety priority for the district.

Bentzel says he and fellow administrators are still talking with people about the incident that resulted in no injuries when a Hopkinsville High School student brought a handgun to school Monday, February 6.

click to download audioMonday, February 6, a Hopkinsville High School student produced a handgun, then threw the gun on the roof of the school. He was later taken into custody by law enforcement officials. Thursday a student was arrested and charged after several weapons were found inside his vehicle during a routine search.
