Montie Streeval’s defense team could finally be in stone.
During Monday’s pre-trial conference in Trigg County Circuit Court, the man charged with the 2020 homicide and body disposal of 25-year-old Powderly native Cameron Phillips had Hopkins County native James “Chip” Adams II at his side — in which he noted Olivia Adams now set to represent him further through his potential trial.
Circuit Judge Jamus Redd III made duly note.
Another pre-trial conference was set for 9 AM March 8, and a mediation was scheduled for 2 PM March 24 in Eddyville.
Streeval last appeared January 11 with Princeton’s Duncan Varda as his defensive representative — his fifth since the 2020 criminal incident.
A trial date scheduled for August 10-18 still remains in question at this time, given the circumstances, but Redd said in January he’d like to see the trial begin “this year.”
Incarcerated for more than two years without trial, Streeval is also charged as a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, possession of a controlled substance first degree, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia — all related to the death of Phillips, whose body was found in a Trigg County cemetery.
