UPDATE: Electric Crews Continue Working To Restore Power

Pennyrile Electric crews are continuing to work around the clock to make repairs until all power has been restored after half of its members were left in the dark after high winds and storms Friday.

Brent Gilkey, spokesman for Pennyrile Electric, says crews are continuing to make progress restoring power to members that were affected by Friday’s storms and high winds.

He says they have 150+ people working to restore power.

Gilkey indicates it will take some time to get all electricity restored.

As of 4:30 Saturday afternoon, Pennyrile Electric is reporting power has been restored to more than 11,500 members since Friday morning. Gilkey says they are still showing over 300 outages, affecting 14,461 members.

Hopkinsville Electric System General Manager Jeff Hurd also says they have additional crews coming in to help.
