Streeval Could Avoid Trial With Mediation On Table

Mediation remains on the way for Montie Streeval.

During Wednesday’s pre-trial conference in Trigg County Circuit Court, Judge Jamus Redd, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jill Giordano and defender Olivia Adams agreed once again upon March 24 for such a hearing — which will be presided over by Judge Natalie White in Eddyville.

Should mediation not bring a resolution or plea, Redd said all motions and trial preparations could come in a May pre-trial conference.

Adams is Streeval’s sixth defensive representative since his 2020 arrest, where he was charged with the homicide and body disposal of 25-year-old Powerdly native Cameron Phillips in a Trigg County cemetery. He’s also charged as a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, possession of a controlled substance first degree, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia — all related to Phillips’ death.

A trial date remains scheduled for August 10-18.
