Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges In Hopkinsville

A traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard led to drug charges for a Christian County man Tuesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 40-year-old Johnny Stanford was stopped for having an expired registration plate and during the stop, he was found to have no insurance and a suspended license.

Officers could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and after a search marijuana, meth, cocaine, a marijuana smoking pipe, and a large knife were found.

He was arrested and charged with no registration receipt, failure to maintain required insurance, operating on a suspended or revoked license, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of meth.
