OJ Oleka believes he has the experience and a number of diverse qualities that set him apart from the other two Republican candidates seeking the Kentucky State Treasurer seat in the upcoming May Primary Election.
During an interview with Your News Edge, Oleka expressed his commitment to running for State Treasurer and his belief in the “American Dream”. He explained that his parents moved from Nigeria to Frankfort, Kentucky in search of new opportunities, and through hard work, they were able to move from poverty to prosperity.
Oleka attended the University of Louisville and then became a school teacher, which ultimately led him into public service. That experience includes running a state-wide non-profit for private education during the COVID pandemic and working as a deputy in the State Treasurer’s Office.
After much thought and prayer, Oleka said he and his wife decided to enter the State Treasurer race with the aim of giving back to the state they cherish.
