A former Hopkinsville Police Department Chief could be coming out of retirement and taking over a similar role he once held in Glasgow.
According to WCLU Radio, Guy Howie could be appointed the next Glasgow Police Chief.
Glasgow Mayor Henry Royse will present a municipal order to his city council Monday. If approved, Howie starts Monday, April 17.
Howie led the Hopkinsville Police Department from 2008 to 2014. He told the now-defunct Glasgow Daily Times in 2019 he was retiring to be with family in Hopkinsville. Howie returned to police work after retirement and has most recently serving as a school resource officer at Sinking Fork Elementary School.
WCLU Radio reports the previous Glasgow Police Chief, Jennifer Arbogast, was asked to resign by Royse in a conversation on February 14, citing new leadership was needed for the department.
