Beginning this Saturday, the ability to make cash payments for court fees and fines is going to be much more convenient.
The Administrative Office of the Courts announced Friday it is expanding ePay, which is the state judicial branch’s online payment service. It will allow people to pay cash at select retail registers statewide.
AOC Director Laurie K. Givens said in a statement that this additional payment option “removes barriers that can add stress to an already stressful situation,” and that this expansion also meets the needs of “our unbanked population.”
With this measure, courts will accept full and partial cash payments,

— Speedway USA
— Rite Aid
— Kum & Go
— Kwik Trip Inc.

— Royal Farms
— TA Operating LLC
— Walgreens
— Pilot Travel Centers
— Go Mart Inc.
— Wal-Mart Service Desk or Money Center
— S & G Management LLC
— 7 Eleven Southwest
— And some independent retailers
Prior to this weekend, cash payments were only accepted at judicial centers/courthouses, and credit/debit cards were needed for online payments. The ePay expansion was a pilot program for Calloway, Fayette, Fleming and Nelson counties.
Furthermore, the AOC is partnering with the Division of Probation & Parole so those on supervision can pay cash at kiosks in P&P offices. These kiosks involve 23 counties across the Commonwealth — including Christian, Daviess, Henderson and McCracken.

These modifications come courtesy of state legislature, which in 2021 appropriated $14.7 million from the Federal American Rescue Plan to upgrade Kentucky’s court technology.
