86-year-old Margaret Geraldine Gadsden Peterson of Hopkinsville passed on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 14 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with a Rosary Ceremony preceding at 11.
Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 5:30 at Gamble Funeral Home.
Margaret, born to the late James and Rosie Gadsden but raised by her grandparents, the late Rev. & Mrs. D.W. Washington, was born on May 13, 1936, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Margaret was a member of St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church and was a teacher for the Christian County Public School System for 41 years.
She was also a lifetime member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is proceeded in death by 2 brothers, Harold and James Gadsden.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Levi Peterson Jr.; 2 sons, Levi Peterson III, Herschel Peterson; 2 grandchildren, Margaret E. Peterson, Savannah M. Peterson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
