Cayce’s Pharmacy To Cease Operations

Cayce’s Pharmacy location on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville

Cayce’s Pharmacy announced Wednesday they have been bought out by Walgreens.

The local pharmacy has two locations in Hopkinsville, one on West 7th Street, the other on Eagle Way Bypass. The pharmacy has served residents since 1981 and said their last day open would be Tuesday, April 18.

Any prescriptions left after Tuesday will be automatically moved to Walgreens on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville. Cayce’s Pharmacy was sold to Value RX Bluegrass, LLC on December 3, 2016.

Former owner Mike Cayce had previously rejected offers from chain pharmacies because he wanted to ensure quality customer service for his longtime customers.

With Cayce’s closure, three family-owned pharmacies remain in Hopkinsville: Towne And Country Discount Drugs at 3217 Lafayette Road, Tom’s Family Pharmacy at 815 Country Club Lane, and Save More Drugs at 2208 Fort Campbell Boulevard.
