A Manchester woman and two Hopkinsville men were charged after a traffic stop on Mechanic Street led to drug charges for the men Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Ashley Smith was stopped by law enforcement after she failed to stop at a four-way intersection.
The smell of marijuana was allegedly coming from the vehicle during the traffic stop and Smith was found to be driving on a DUI suspended license.
After a search of the vehicle and items owned by the passenger’s 34-year-old Damion Wharton and 34-year-old Joshua Lawson marijuana, two glass smoking devices, a needle, and meth were reportedly found.
Wharton was arrested and charged with possession of meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Lawson was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal mischief and possession of meth.
Smith was also charged with disregarding a stop sign, no registration plates, failure to maintain required insurance, and driving on a DUI-suspended license.
