Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is proud of the rebuilding process taking place in Dawson Springs and recent economic announcements in Hopkinsville.
Governor Beshear spoke to Your News Edge Monday during the AT&T Morningline in Louisville and said it’s great to see the progress in the Hopkins County community.
The town was nearly seventy-percent destroyed by an EF-4 tornado on December 10, 2021.
Governor Beshear added that recent economic announcements have been huge for western Kentucky.
During the Christian County Chamber Eye Opener Breakfast last week, DeeAnna Sova, the equity program manager for the incoming Ascend Elements, said they would like Hopkinsville to be considered both the batter and battery capital of the world.
He said recent efforts in the Kentucky General Assembly will allow some funding to help out industrial parks.
Governor Beshear hopes those recent announcements will keep people from moving out of western Kentucky to find better jobs.
