Man Charged After Sunday Morning Interstate 24 Crash

A Tennessee man was charged after a wreck on Interstate 24 in Christian County Sunday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the area for a reckless driver and then told the vehicle had hit the cable barriers around the 83-mile marker and destroyed over 32 poles. The driver 48-year-old Ronald Reedy, of Hermitage, fled on foot leaving the vehicle in the middle of the westbound lanes.

Deputies say he was located later in the gravel under an overpass and told them he was the driver when asked why he didn’t return to the scene he said he was resting his back.

Reedy reportedly had the odor of alcohol and marijuana coming from him and was found to have marijuana on him.

He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, DUI, first-degree criminal mischief, failure to maintain required insurance and possession of marijuana.
