Richard “Rick” F. Sweet, Jr, age 63, of Cerulean, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 24, 2023; at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Sweet was born on July 25, 1959, in Ft. Riley, KS; the son of the late Richard F. and Ruth Lina Diekhake Sweet. Richard served in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Avionics Tech and later worked as a civilian contractor for Army 160th SOAR as a helicopter inspector for 39 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Tina Hart Sweet of Cerulean; his daughter, Kristy Sanchez-Robles of Sharon Grove; his sister, Linda Sweet Lewis and her fiancé Kevin Beans of Hopkinsville; his brother, Michael D. Sweet of Hopkinsville; his grandchildren Lucio J. Sanchez-Robles and Nicholas Sanchez-Robles.
