Christian County elementary schools raised more than $38,000 for the Hopkinsville Rotary Club’s annual fundraising auction, with elementary school representatives on hand to make the presentations Wednesday night.
Auction Chairman Brandon Killebrew said elementary schools posted an all-time record fundraising effort totaling $38,718.13. Night 4 will include the fundraising results of the middle and high schools.
Night 3 totals for the main auction were $8,190, compared to 10,695 last year, bringing the cumulative main auction total to 33,510 vs. 36,988 last year, a decrease of $3,478. 281 items have been sold through Wednesday, compared to 288 items last year.
Diner and Sweet Shop totals for Night 2 were $6,306 compared to $5,695.50 last year. Cumulative totals are $15,488 vs $12,865.75 last year representing an increase of $2622.25.
Hour Club totals for Wednesday totaled $63,790 compared to $55,854.99 last year. Cumulative Hour Club totals through three nights are $213,638 vs $224,042.99, a decrease of $11,260.74.
The overall total through three nights is $262,636 compared to $273,896.74 in 2022.
A foundation grant of $8,000 was announced to establish EarlyAct clubs in 4 elementary schools: Crofton, South Christian, Indian Hills, and Pembroke.
Additionally, the Rotary Club of Hopkinsville presented a $12,000 foundation grant to Gateway Academy to renew its support of the “Industry All Stars” programming.
Three Chancellor-Level donors representing gifts of $20,000 or more have committed to the Rotary Club’s 73rd Annual Campaign thus far: Jennie Stuart Health, In Memory of Sarah and Selden Trimble; and Sue Badgett.
The Auction will resume for Night 4 on Thursday night at 6:00, when middle and high schools will present their fundraising results. Hour Club donations are still being sought, and supporters are encouraged to contact the club at 270-886-3034 to make a donation.
