As the latest Trigg County Chamber of Commerce Leadership class winds down, two organizations will benefit from their hard work.
Trigg County Chamber Membership Coordinator Beth Sumner and class member Scott Sanders spoke to Your News Edge about the class. One of the projects taken on by the class was a renovation of the stage inside the Trigg County Recreation Complex.
The class raised over $11,000 by selling raffle tickets for three Trigg County-themed baskets and a unique bourbon donated by Trigg County Liquors, while also getting donations from Trigg County Tourism and Trigg County Parks and Recreation. Money is also expected from Trigg County Fiscal Court.
Once the stage project is complete, the remaining funds will be split between two Trigg County organizations.
Sanders added the work of the Trigg County Helping Hands and Simple Blessings Ministries sometimes goes unnoticed.
Sumner added the leadership class would show off the new stage at the next Trigg County Chamber Lunch and Learn in a few weeks.
As for Sanders, his involvement in the latest class helped him learn more about the community in which he operates a business and lives.
Recruitment for the next Trigg County Leadership class will begin soon. Sumner said if you would like to learn more, you can call (270) 522-0259.
