The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville and Christian County has changed Thursday’s History on Tap program to talk about a former fire station damaged in late March.
Museum Director Alissa Keller tells Your News Edge the building on 9th Street formerly housed the Central Fire Station.
Keller adds the damage sustained was crazy.
The building was constructed in 1904, with the fire department moving in a year later.
The building served as the fire station until 1964. After that, it housed several businesses before its renovation and re-opening as the Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum in 2008.
The event, at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company, will also feature a discussion on the future of the building. It will start at 6:30 Thursday evening, with Keller and Historian William Turner leading the discussion.
