The rain did not dampen the spirit of tourism officials Thursday afternoon for the Batter Capital of the World sculpture showcase in downtown Hopkinsville.
Visit Hopkinsville Executive Director Brooke Jung tells Your News Edge the sculpture has been named ‘Thank A Farmer.’
Jung adds agriculture has made its mark on Hopkinsville and Christian County.
The first 100 people who stopped by the come-and-go event at the Hopkinsville Farmers Market were given free goodies.
Jung says the event served as a launch party for the new hours of operation for the farmers market.
The Hopkinsville Farmers Market will only be open Thursdays through September from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The market is located at the corner of 9th and Main Street.
